Sazaro / GROWTH

How to scale an online store systematically

Scaling means deciding whether to invest more, based on unit economics, data, and operational capacity. More spending alone is not growth.

Check what can support more orders

Before increasing spend, review contribution after costs, inventory, delivery, and cash flow. Account for the time between paying for ads, receiving revenue, and repeat purchases. An LTV estimate without enough historical data is not a sound basis for a large initial CAC.

Decide on the next step

  1. Agree on definitions for revenue, new customers, and costs.
  2. Choose one important constraint.
  3. Write down the test, primary metric, and spending limit.
  4. Once there is enough data, compare the result with the baseline.
  5. Increase spend gradually or revise the test.

What to watch as spend increases

Watch marginal CAC, order contribution, returns, the share of new customers, and delivery quality. Average historical ROAS can remain strong while new spending brings in more expensive customers.
